Equipment Engineer - PLC Technology, Olofström

The department Sub Assembly Equipment Engineering & Virtual ME is responsible for Equipment Engineering and Virtual Engineering both in project and annual phases. We support projects, production, and maintenance, mostly in Olofström but in some cases also other Volvo plants. Our main organisation is located I Gothenburg but our main mission is in Olofström plants and we are located in the head quarter in Olofström. The mission of the team is to prepare and develop methods and techniques of production. We shall also manage and execute projects cross-functionally to meet the requirements of lead times, capital costs, staffing, productivity, flexibility, safety/health/environment, quality, availability, maintainability and operational costs through various forms of simulation to produce the most optimal in terms of products and equipment. We also perform testing within the joining techniques used in Volvo Cars Body Components (VCBC) to meet Volvo Car Group requirements for product and process capability to manage and update the standards and technical text specifications (TS).
As Equipment Engineer - PLC Technology you will be responsible for implementing the new Volvo Car Group PLC standard in too new equipment for the sub assembly area in Olofström. You are responsible for developing new PLC blocks for equipment in future projects. This means that you will work together with Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, Maintenance Engineer and the SME group PLC hard- & software. You will also participate in the work with Virtual Commissioning.
Main responsibilities
* Develop blocks according to VCC programming standard
* Handle the TIA-portal
* Test, develop and document the PLC/HMI program
* Participate in Volvo Car Group cross-functional forum as engineering team and internal technology group regarding control system
* You will be working together with Process-Equipment Engineer, maintenance and external companies
* Pre- technical discussions with line builder/Siemens
* Prepare resource and future technology needs
* Contribute to the development of control technology staff
Required qualifications
* College with a technical focus in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical programming experience
* PLC / HMI knowledge is required (Siemens & Mitsubishi)
* Ability to use general IT tools
* Experience of Project Leadership
* Fluent in English and Swedish, written and spoken
