ESG Specialist within Sustainable Finance Advisory, Investment Banking

ESG Specialist within Sustainable Finance Advisory, Investment Banking

Arbetsbeskrivning

Would you like to join our Sustainable Finance Advisory team within Investment Banking (IB)? We are now looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in sustainability and the financial markets. This might be your next challenge.

In the team we have a broad client focus and you will be exposed to a wide range of tasks and opportunities allowing you to build on your overall understanding of sustainability in the financial markets. As the position is newly created there is significant scope to shape the role and responsibilities and hence it will also provide you with the opportunity to shape it in your image.

At Nordea, we see that the world is changing fast – and we want to be one step ahead of the curve. That’s why we’re deeply committed to providing the financial solutions of tomorrow to our customers. We’re creating an agile environment where we experiment and grow together – and we need your ideas and unique background. With us, you’ll be in good company with a chance to make your mark on something bigger.

About this opportunity

Welcome to the Sustainable Finance Advisory team.

We are responsible for advising Nordea’s largest clients on the developments in the financial markets with regards to sustainable finance. With a specific focus on sustainability in the context of finance we have a broad focus on clients ranging from supranational and agencies, to corporates and financial institutions. As an ESG Specialist in the team we count on you to bring with your relevant experience within ESG analyses and policy development to support in the client interaction and thought leadership.

You will:
-   Stay on top of market developments and provide detailed insights for client discussions
-   Analyse companies’ ESG profiles, including the risk and opportunities
-   Lead the overall development and integration of ESG analyses into existing and new products
-   Provide sector updates and deep dives to support in client discussions
-   Contribute and help shape Nordea’s thought leadership activities within Sustainable Finance
-   Create high quality material on ESG developments for client meetings

You’ll join a passionate team with dedicated specialists. The role is primarily intended to be in Stockholm, but there is scope to consider exceptional candidates in Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki.

Who you are

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in being at our best – and that we imagine you share with us.

You are an experienced ESG analyst, ideally at a financial market participant or ESG service provider. We therefore expect that you will be able to hit the ground running and take ownership of projects and responsibilities early on.

As we have a strong commercial and client focus you should be motivated by pitching for business and comfortable with looking at issues from the client’s perspective. At the same time, the ESG Specialist position is not intended to cover clients directly so you should be driven by desire to support and be part of the team.

The position as ESG Specialist is newly created within the Sustainable Finance Advisory unit. As such you will have the opportunity to shape the role in your image.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:
-   Have a comprehensive understanding of broader policy and market developments within sustainability and sustainable finance
-   Are experienced in conducting ESG analyses of companies and projects
-   Can balance the need for high-quality work with a flexible mindset and deliver on short notice
-   Are thorough and methodical in your approach to work and able to work independently

Your experience and background:
-   At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience, ideally within ESG analyses and sustainable finance
-   Academic degree, preferably within sustainability and environmental management
-   Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required. Additional language skills, specifically Nordic languages, is considered an advantage (but not essential).
