Base Technology teams investigates new standards/technologies, defines how to use them and performs proof of concept. The group Network Design are responsible for multiple wired technologies such as ETHERNET, CAN, LIN, FLEXRAY, MOST, LVDS/APIX2, A2B etc. Additionally, the group is responsible for wireless technologies and signal database implementations.

We are now looking for an Ethernet SW Base Technology Developer. Are you passionate about software, Ethernet and TCP/IP communication and want to join in the future evolution of vehicle networks? Join the Network Design team in Electrical System Design. You will be focusing on the software for Ethernet and TCP/IP communication and will have the opportunity to learn, design and test these technologies and be involved in the process from start to end.

Main responsibilities

* Join running Advanced Engineering projects with focus on Ethernet, where we develop, establish and decide on the strategy for the Base Technology, according to applicable processes
* Continue our work with Ethernet, Real-Time Automotive Ethernet, TCP/IP communication, SOME/IP VCC IP Command Protocol, Timing and Synchronization for Time-Sensitive Applications and AUTOSAR Ethernet
* Understand, improve existing and create new Base Technology specifications
* Verify existing Base Technology specifications in a box car
* Supply, analyse and evaluate proposals to new or revised technical solutions
* Identify and collect possible technical needs & options, and current shortages
* Transfer/Mediate needed knowledge in order to support implementation and usage of the Base Technology in designs
* Implementation support towards the implementation organisation, which uses Ethernet technologies for their applications
* Development of the Base Technology according to applicable process, GTDS
* Secure technology design by proof of concepts
* Delivery of specifications, DVM, tools & processes
* Ensuring that the Base Technology is verified
* Monitoring competitors
* Surveying the technical developments regarding requirements, DVM and tools

Required qualifications

* Computer or Electrical Engineering qualification with special subject or interest in Ethernet communications
* Experience in development using Ethernet - TCP/IP communication
* Detailed knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP communication, VLAN, IP Routing, Firewalls, Linux OS and programming in ANSI C or C++
* Experience of AUTOSAR
* Experience of VCC specific tools such as GTDS, Elektra and Team Center is meritorious
* Education within Design for Six Sigma (Green Belt/Blue Belt) is a plus
* English (written and spoken)
* Driving license (B) valid in Sweden
