About this opportunity


The world is changing at a rapid speed with 5G, cloud computing and AI creating new ways for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to shape the world we are living in.
In 2019 our world-class Patent organization started a new unit partly dedicated to the training of patent attorney trainees, and partly responsible for inventions within cybersecurity and IoT. We have now opened a position for a fully qualified European patent attorney who would not only love to work with patents in the IoT area, but also contribute to the tutoring of the trainees. You would certainly be a cornerstone and one of the driving forces for our success.


What you will do


• Mentor and teach patent attorney trainees in our award-winning 3-year trainee programme
• Identify and protect patentable inventions within foremost IoT. This will involve working in close cooperation with inventors within the R&D organizations within Ericsson
• Prosecute patent applications and patents in several jurisdictions worldwide
• Investigate and support licensing and sales opportunities for Ericsson’s patents
• Continuously improve the ways of working with the above responsibilities

You will bring


• A Master or PhD degree in a relevant technical area such as electronic engineering, telecommunications, applied physics, computer science, and ICT
• Being a fully qualified European Patent Attorney
• Demonstrated qualities of mentorship, leadership, openness, and passion for your job
• Very good communication skills, be able to convey information to professionals at all levels and across different business areas
• Good organisational, multitasking and negotiation skills, be accurate, flexible and able to lead and work within a team
• Proficiency in English as it is the working language of the company
