Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
What´s in it for you?
According to most experts and companies, the future of the automotive industry is electrified vehicles. Volvo Cars has the ambition to sell 1,000,000 electrified cars by 2025, and with this goal we work intensely with development and validation of the technical solutions in Hybrids and Electric vehicles. Here is a chance to be part of that journey.
We are a growing team of currently 18 members working with analysis and validation of the on board charger (OBC) and DC/DC converters. Both these are critical parts of electrified vehicles where the development of new hardware (HW) and software (SW) is rapid. With the rapid development and growing portfolio of products new ground need to be broken in analysis and validation. We work both in HIL simulators with manual and automated testing, and in vehicles on test tracks and on expeditions. The work environment is open and energetic and we continuously strive for improvement and welcome new and creative ideas. The team composition is multi-cultural and English is therefore more common than Swedish, and the varying background and experience of the members contributes to a welcoming and respectful openness to all new members.
What you´ll do
We are now looking for an addition to our team of OBC and DC/DC testers, and specifically we wish to strengthen the team in the area of Combined Charging System (CCS), which is the most common standard for EV charging in Europe and in the US. You will work with both manual test methods and with atomated tests, and participate in all steps from writing and performing test methods in HIL and LAB environment to field validation of our vehicles in the markets.
Do you fit the profile?
Your background includes a history of education or work in the area of SW programming and electronics, and knowledge of communication standards such as Home Plug and TCP/IP is meritorious as is experience of Canalyzer and Wireshark. You are familiar with measurement techniques used to analyse both analogue and digital systems. You enjoy to work in a team and are open to adopt an agile way of working. You are curious and motivated by finding both technical problems and technical solutions to challenges, and you have the inventive mind-set that makes you come up with new and improved ways of working. You have the ability to focus on the assigned task, and the ability work independently.
