The Purchasing Outbound Logistics function belongs to the Inbound and Outbound Logistics organisation which is part of the Supplier Quality and Logistics unit. The function is responsible for the purchasing of regional and global Road, Rail and Ocean transportation and other logistics services, required for the delivery of finished vehicles from factories to markets.

As Commodity Buyer you will be part of a diverse team of skilled buyers in a dynamic environment, with the responsibility to lead sourcing initiatives from start to finish as well as to support the development of strategies and capability development in the team. You need to have good knowledge of purchasing, logistics and project management. You will work in close cooperation with colleagues and internal stakeholders - regionally and globally - as well as external suppliers to drive optimal cost, quality and service.

Main responsibilities

* Support the development of sourcing strategy and plan for assigned commodity
* Perform market research and supplier scouting
* Lead and support the preparation and execution of defined sourcing projects and RFQs
* Lead and support the planning and conducting of supplier negotiations
* Lead and support the recommendation and selection of suppliers
* Lead and support the conclusion of supplier agreements and contracts
* Drive issue resolution and development of corrective actions
* Drive supplier development , including continuous improvement
* Create and distribute purchase orders within assigned area of responsibility
* Perform general administration tasks related to the job
* Participate in cross-functional teams
* Work towards individual targets

Required qualifications

* University degree or similar
* Minimum 3 years' experience from Purchasing and Logistics
* Project management experience
* Interest in technology and doing business
* Target oriented and performance driven
* Good knowledge of Excel and SAP
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Experience of the automotive industry is meritorious
