The IKEA Digital Design System, Skapa, is a digital ecosystem - a framework that neatly aligns the work that we do. Skapa is s a system created for us and by us. It’s been developed internally by a team of passionate creators. It is living system that knits the IKEA digital experience together. And now the Skapa team needs to be reinforced with an additional director. Could this be you?
SKILLS YOU’LL NEED TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE
As a Skapa Director you’ll get the unique opportunity to help grow and develop and manage a relatively new team. You will, together with your peers, work on setting the strategic direction, roadmap and organizational structure of the team and Skapa as a product. You will manage a group of extraordinary design system designers and your work here will have a lasting impact on the entire IKEA Group and on how we deliver digital solutions to our customers and co-workers.
We would love if you had...
To succeed in the role, we’d hope you’ve had extensive experience in the following:
Previous people management experience is a must. Extensive (at least 5 years), documented experience in leading, managing, coaching, developing and recruiting senior and mid-level professionals and promoting professional growth and mentorship.
Solid experience from creating and/or establishing frameworks, processes, guidelines and working/communication standards to scale and develop a design system
Advanced knowledge in Figma’s design tool, including the use of the design system features



WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Together with your peers you will work to evolve, scale and mature Skapa across the IKEA Group. Your role will develop and grow as the team and system does but it will always include;
Managing and developing a geographically diverse team of design system designers ranging in experience and seniority. Teaming up with the Engineering Manager, Product Owner, Design System Principal and your peer Directors to create the strategy and direction for Skapa as well as developing and executing on the roadmap across the IKEA Group.
Networking across enterprise setting to foster new avenues of collaboration and solidifying existing ones throughout the IKEA Group.
Lead some of the larger discovery and delivery projects within Skapa
