Scania Financial Services (SFS) is offering financing and insurance solutions to Scania’s customers, dealerships and distributors in more than 60 markets through 18 business units. In the markets where SFS operate, we finance more than 40 % of Scania’s vehicle sales. We are 1 100 dedicated professionals managing a credit portfolio of 180 000 financed vehicles and 100 000 insurance policies, representing a total amount of 100 billion SEK.
The role as Credit Underwriter
Since our business is continuously growing in size and complexity, we are looking for a Credit Underwriter to join the Credit Risk and Asset Management department at SFS’ head-office. The Credit Risk & Asset Management department is responsible for the management of credit risk within SFS’ global business, including credit underwriting, analytics and reporting. The position reports directly to the Credit Risk Manager.
As a Credit Underwriter, you will be working closely with our international business units in the underwriting of large credit exposures. Your main responsibility will be to analyse incoming credit proposals from our business units and recommend them for decision to the SFS Credit Committee. You will participate in the development of our working methods and policies within the credit underwriting area, both centrally and locally in the business units. The position will offer high exposure to our international business and to senior professionals within the organisation.
Competences and experience
To succeed in this position, the following competences and experiences will be valuable:
• A university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or similar educational background.
• Several years of experience of credit assessment and credit underwriting from the financial services industry, preferably from a bank, leasing company or captive finance company.
• A strong analytical capacity and the ability to draw conclusions from large amounts both numerical and descriptive information.
• A high level of personal integrity and the ability to anchor your decisions in well-structured argumentation.
• A willingness and ability to work internationally and cross-functionally and to travel when required.
• A willingness and capacity to continuously learn and keep updated about developments in our markets and in our business units.
