About RISE
Within RISE, we work with applied research in a number of different industries, and it is therefore central to maintain cutting-edge expertise in our respective areas.

At the Applied AI and IoT unit in Linköping, we have broad interests and working with data management, machine learning in computer vision and time series as well as (low energy) IoT. We have chosen to focus on data analysis, where data could be everything from large amounts of data from simple sensors, data in public databases and image data in various dimensions.

About the role
At RISE Linköping we are now looking for a researcher to strengthen our expertise in Semantic Web and data management projects in various application areas. Our projects deal with various stages of data and knowledge management ranging from data acquisition, storage, access, modelling and organization as well as integration of disparate data sources. Our work is organized around projects in which we aim to apply latest research and technology developments whenever possible. You will investigate complex problems and evaluate possible solutions as well as implement them. Specific tasks will depend on the funded projects. You will also participate in applying for funding from various funding agencies and writing project proposal. We collaborate with partners form industry, academia, and the public sector.

Who are you?
You hold at least a MSc MSc in Computer Science, Information Science, or related area, and you have a minimum of 3 years of experience with Semantic Web technologies. Or even better you hold a PhD in Computer Science, Information Science, or related area with focus on Semantic Web related topics.

You possess knowledge and experience with standards/technologies/tools from the Semantic Web stack and Linked Data, such as:

- RDF(S)/OWL
- SPARQL
- At least one triplestore
- libraries/frameworks, such as Apache Jena and Eclipse RDF4J
- (bonus) Ontology-based Data Access (OBDA), ontology alignment
- (bonus) familiarity with Description Logics and ontology reasoners

We also believe that you possess knowledge about data modelling, storage, and access as well as experience with database management systems (both RDBMS as well as NoSQL databases). You are experienced with Linux for local and cloud development. You also have extensive experience with Java, Python, or another object-oriented language.

We place great importance to if you possess experience in machine learning, especially deep learning, or graph neural networks as well as relevant libraries, such as TensorFlow. It is also a plus if you possess experience with distributed data processing frameworks, such as Apache Spark.

As a person you are a keen problem solver, self-driven, independent in organizing your own work and enjoying advancing own skills and competences. You are adaptable to different teams and conditions, as we are working in multiple teams depending on our projects. You possess good ability to explain problems and solution to the members of your teams with different backgrounds.
