Volvo Group is accelerating the race towards electrification and the area of Electromobility is growing rapidly. We at Electrical Diagnostic Propulsion Systems, now need to strengthen our team with two experienced Onboard Diagnostic Engineers.

We at Electromobility are taking the heritage of best-in-class conventional products and turn that into environmentally friendly and sustainable top-notch electrical products.
The responsibility of our group is to develop diagnostics software, drive and define the strategies for the diagnostics system in electromobility. Our groups responsibility includes to secure that our product fulfills the legal diagnostics requirements such as CARB Zero Emission Powertrain On-Board Diagnostics requirement.


We are approximately ten highly skilled professionals, who share a passion for technology and developing products that make a difference for the Volvo Group’s customers and society.
Our broad diversity fosters an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. For our team, common tasks are diagnostic systems design, technical documentation, embedded software development, testing and data analytics. The expectations are high, and therefore we need to get you on board to further strengthen our capacity.


The Electromobility department combines the benefits of a large international company with the feeling of working in a small company. There is close collaboration between different parts of the organization from sales and purchasing to workshops and labs all located in the modern, inspiring facility CampX, part of Volvo Group Truck Technology. Who are you?


We are looking for colleges that can lead the work to secure our compliancy with legal OBD requirements for zero emission propulsion systems.
To be successful in this position you need to be a team player and a problem solver. You are communicative, have good technical skills and are curious about learning new things. As a person we believe that you have a solution and result oriented attitude.


To be able to take on this challenge successfully we believe that you will possess the following skills and competencies:
Bachelor/ Master of Science in Engineering or similar.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Experience from teamwork with good collaboration skills.
More than five years’ experience of diagnostics development within the propulsion domain.
Diagnostics legal requirements and experience from powertrain certification
ZEP cert, 1971.1, 1956.8, 1962.5



Meritorious experience:
Diagnostics communication.
SAE J1979, J1979-2, J1979-3, J2012 ISO 14229, ISO 27145, ISO 15765, ISO 15031
Diagnostics certification work.
Electric vehicle propulsion development.
Previous experience in embedded software-development, including the use of Simulink/TargetLink.
Scripting using e.g., Python or other tools.
C/CE/D driver license.
CAN communication including CANalyzer experience.
