Be a part of building the worls's best football game, for everyone
Reimagine the future of what the best football game in the world can become. Imagine the game that will change the industry, a game created for the players with a player experience and gameplay-first approach. A game that will be loved by 100+ million players, with very, very few bugs.
Picture your name in the credits of that game, your name next to the very same people that have listened to your bold ideas encouraged you, and supported you along the way.
Envision being part of the studio that is creating what others thought was not even possible, a studio where voice, ideas, and traits are truly valued. Imagine being the first QA Analyst at GOALS - the person that created our QA process pretty much from scratch.
Now, take this vision - and bring it to life!
Your impact
As our first QA Analyst, you will be our MVP when it comes to ensuring the quality of our game, both in development and in our live service.
Today, our QA process is a shared responsibility across the GOALS organization - and we aim to keep the teams highly invested in building high-quality features. Working with all our different disciplines, your role will be to build and improve our quality assurance processes and way of working around QA, as well as testing our game.
Your initial focus will be to understand our game, roadmap, and how we're working with QA and development today. You will analyze how we're working today, and give input on how we can work better from a QA perspective. Together with leadership from different departments, you will create new processes, document those, and share them with our teams. You will also work hands-on with testing our game. We believe that your initial focus will be manual testing, but as our product grows so will this team.
We take pride in allowing our employees to grow in their roles. This role is the first and foundational QA role at GOALS and will have an impact on how that discipline and leadership will grow over time.
In your role, you will tackle questions such as:
What kind of tests and test cases do we need to have in place to ensure a high level of quality in live service and development phases?
How can we build processes and improve our way of working to increase the test coverage in our development phase? How can we communicate those to the development teams?
How can we create a good process for collecting, assigning, and following up on bugs from our live environment (Discord community) and development phase?
And of course, when identifying that something is broken in our game: what makes this bug appear, and who can solve it?
Focus Areas
- Set up a structure for how we test the product in different phases together with leaders from all different disciplines (tech, art, design, and production)
- Write and conduct test cases/scripts for different scenarios, for all our different disciplines
- Hands-on manual testing of the entire game
- Handle bug reporting in Jira: collect and identify bugs, write bug reports, assign bugs, and follow up on the progress
Who you are
We’re creating a game for everyone, and our studio should always represent that with a diverse team.
In this role, we are looking for you who have a couple of years of experience working with quality assurance and are eager to use your experience in the field to build something from scratch
You enjoy working with a broad scope including everything from hands-on testing, to process development and documentation, and have a good understanding of what makes a good quality assurance process. Most likely, you also have experience working with people from different backgrounds and can structure your work in a way that makes it easy to understand for others.
To thrive in this role, we also believe that you like analyzing and solving problems. Be that everything from breaking down a scenario to a specific test case to understanding the cause of a particularly tricky bug.
On paper, we believe that you have
- 3+ years of experience working with QA with experience from both the live and development phase
- A solid understanding of how games work and how they can be tested, either by playing games or working as a QA in the industry. Game industry experience is meritorious
- Strong skills in manual testing. Automated testing is meritorious
- Experience working with good QA practices in an agile environment
- Experience working with Jira
