Experienced Software Developer for Analytics Integration team

Your future Team
We are a small DevOps team of four engineers and our job is to integrate Axis's analytics applications into other Axis and partner applications. Analytics and AI at Axis means using techniques such as deep learning and machine learning, mainly for analysis of video material, to make the cameras smarter in surveillance applications. The use cases can for example be automatic detection and tracking of objects such as cars or humans, or generating alarms when objects cross a line or enter an area.

We select our own tools and ways of working and like to synchronize continuously rather than holding meetings. Our preferred language is Python, but that changes depending on the tasks we are working on.

Our DevOps team belongs to a larger team of 15 developers, all working with Video Analytics. We all have a great interest in technology, and of equal importance to us is having a relaxed environment where everyone is free to speak their mind, laugh a lot, and be inspired. Staying ahead of the competition requires creativity and understanding of the challenges we address, and we believe the best way to achieve that is to be in an environment where you feel at home.

What you will be working on
Your task will be to ensure that the analytics products that our sister teams develop are integrated in all of Axis's solutions together with your four colleagues. This means that you will have the chance to work with many different teams and products within Axis, both in Lund and in our other R&D sites in Linköping and Sophia Antipolis (F).

Some of our customer's systems are running on isolated networks and some are connected, so we like to develop platform independent components that can run locally as well as cloud services.

Depending on the tools and languages chosen by the teams we collaborate with, you will get the opportunity to develop new skills. Typical tools, techniques and languages will be Python, GO, Git, Gerrit, and Docker and we work in both Linux and Windows environments.

What we believe you will bring to the team
We think you are a software developer who has worked with agile development in previous jobs. If you have experience with Cloud services it is something we value highly. Our team is quite experienced, and we hope that you can complement us with your own background and experience. You probably have at least 5 years of experience in a development role, and if you like Python you will fit right in.

As a person, we believe that you are curious and driven with a deep interest in Software Development. You respect all individuals and don't put yourself in front of others.

We don't believe in giving you an exact specification on what to do, we want to benefit from the intelligence and skills of each team member to come up with answers to our questions.

A big part of Axis's success is our teamwork and personal interactions, which means that we are looking for someone who enjoys working in teams and interacting with other teams.

Who will be your manager?
As your manager, I believe in an active dialogue within and between the teams. We identify and solve challenges together.

My teams are small and autonomous and able to perform the tasks without too much synchronisation and directions. The most important role I have as a manager is to try to unleash everyone's full potential. And for me, the way to do that is to give as much freedom as possible within our scope.
