Your future role

The department Future Design within Business Unit Gripen Design has the mission to coordinate strategically and technically the concept and the design phase of next generation fighter systems. This also include building competences and viable solutions within highly prioritized technologies such as: AI, Tactical Autonomy and System-of-Systems.

We are now searching for experienced system engineers to strengthen our team that coordinates and leads the studies, concept work and demonstrators for future air combat systems.

Our teams are truly cross-functional and you will be working in close collaboration with specialists and engineers from across Saab and in dialogue with Swedish authorities and potential suppliers.

Your profile

We are searching for you who have a true interest in both technical design and leadership.

Previous experience from technology leadership, preferably from different technology areas and complex system functions are meritorious.

It is important that you like to be part of a high performing team where we learn from each other and share our knowledge and that you understand the power of communication and dialogue.

We believe you are a skilled systems engineer with several years of experience from for example:

* Leading and coordination of a technical development across domains
* Working on/or technical responsible for a system function or capability
* Working on/or experience from different platforms or technology areas (air, naval, land)

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

What you will be a part of

Aeronautics is a business area within Saab that offers aircraft systems and subsystems to both the defence and the civil market. In addition, unmanned systems, construction of aircraft parts, and associated services are within its business. Aeronautics is also responsible for the Gripen weapon system, which includes development, production, marketing, sales and support.

The Future Design department consists of the areas Concept Design and AI & Tactical Autonomy and Operation Analysis. The department is responsible for leading the concept and design phase of the Future Combat Air Systems. Research areas of interest include Manned-Unmanned Teaming, AI, Tactical Autonomy and System-of-Systems.
