Experimental program coordinator for MEDICIS and PRISMAP

Arbetsbeskrivning

Company Description
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of theuniverse. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamentalparticles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact,and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.

Job Description
Introduction
Are you willing to coordinate exciting experiments and new technical developments in mass separation of medical radionuclides?

You will be working within the STI Group, which holds a broad expertise on the interaction of beams with matter and applies its know-how to a large spectrum of activities including particle production, beam intercepting devices, studies on beam-matter interaction andnuclear engineering. You will be in the
RBS Section, which manages the technical coordination of the infrastructures, develops thetargets and ion sources for radioactive ion beam productions and manages a class A work sector for nuclear material handling.

Functions
As MEDICIS experimental program coordinator, you will:
-Take an active role in the technical upgrades in the facility and implement the experimental program.
-Elaborate the planning, monitor the progress and liaise with the external institutes receiving radionuclides for their research program,taking into consideration resources and operational constraints.
-Liaise with the teams in charge of the operation, safety and the technical infrastructures.
-In the PRISMAP coordination team, provide input on the MEDICIS program and technical capacity of the infrastructure with respectto requests and developments ongoing in PRISMAP.
-Take part in the developments of the target - ion sources - units and technical infrastructures beyond Run 3 operation, addressingfuture needs of the Organization as they may arise.

As PRISMAP experimental program coordinator (technical manager), you will:
-Participate in regular meetings and take an active part in the selection of user projects and overall planning of the isotope productionacross the consortium.

Experience:
-Demonstrated experience in the field of radionuclide production and purification;
-Demonstrated experience in the management of scientific collaborations or projects involving several institutes;
-Keen interest in medical applications of radioisotopes;
-Knowledge of the Isotope mass separation ISOL technique and operation of related facilities is an additional asset.
