Our Exciting Opportunity
At Solution Area Packet Core (SA PC) within Business Area Digital Services we are working at the core of the 5G evolution, delivering cost efficient software solutions that make core networks high-performing, automated, and highly programmable. Solution Architecture & Technology unit within SA PC drives overall core network architecture evolution and solution architecture. E2E core network solutions includes alignment cross other BA/SA and industry engagements.
We are now looking for a specialist in the area of Core Network Cloud technologies within SA Packet Core to continue to secure Ericsson technology leadership within Core Networks. Telco industry ecosystem today mandating that products within the SA PC portfolio is developed based on a cloud native paradigm including a microservice architecture, being able to run in a container orchestration environment. SA PC is rapidly re-architecting/refactoring our products towards these expectations. Cloud native technologies are evolving and there is a need for a strong mentorship on strategy direction and choices. This transformation requires a new thinking on all aspects from architecture, technology, and way of working and will encounter significant challenges and trade-offs along the way and to support and simplify cloud native application development and reuse of functionality.
You will
Drive, evolve, and communicating cloud native implementation architecture for SA PC applications. Aligning and supporting the corresponding transformation in Ericsson’s cloud portfolio
Identify required cloud technology system studies for evolved solutions
Provide strategic insights around trends, concepts, technology maturity and readiness in evolution of cloud solutions
Drive cloud technology alignment cross SA PC with support from PDU Chief architects and Cloud technical specialists. Part setting technology strategy and secure execution
Representing the SA PC externally to customers.
Drive investigations on SA PC level and supporting PDU-level technology studies
Building and maintaining a network of architects involved in the cloud native including network towards BDGS and other SA.
Support standardization and open-source strategy and execution
Maintaining contact with and advising Solution Lines and Customer Units
Ensure the vital decisions in relevant architecture boards/councils are taken to facilitate the evolution
Participate in portfolio evolution and planning beyond roadmaps
To be successful in the role you must have
Strong validated technology leadership in the cloud technologies
Experience in developing Cloud native software and good understanding of telco applications
Encourage fearless leadership: Provide clear direction, take exciting decisions
High interest and capability to understand technical trends to capitalize on opportunities and to understand where the industry is going
Demonstrated ability: Knowledge of Core Network is an advantage but not a requirement
Extensive experience in related areas of system management
Experience of working in a multi-stakeholder environment
Experience handling complex contact networks
Experience in formulating strategies and concepts
Excellent time and efficiency management
Attitude is characterized by "one Ericsson" and "Customer first"
Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Proficient in oral and written English and have excellent writing and presentation skills
Bachelors or Master of Science in Computer Engineering or similar
