Pharmaceutical Development is accountable for delivering the design and innovative, efficient and robust processes for the manufacture of drug product and drug substance, the supply of product for toxicological and clinical trials and the generation of information and knowledge to ensure regulatory approval of our products.

At Product Development Inhalation, a sub-division of Pharmaceutical Development, we are now looking for experienced scientists in the areas of Formulation, Characterization and Device Development for inhaled drug products. The Product Development Inhalation Unit currently consists of 80 people.

The role
Designing drug products and commercially viable drug product manufacturing processes.
Technology Transfer of drug product manufacturing processes and/or analytical methods.
Identifying Life Cycle Management Product Opportunities.
Exploitation and development of cutting edge drug delivery technologies.
Collaboratively help to design, develop and implement global best practice in drug development.
Networking with key partners in other departments across R&D, Operations and externally.
All these activities will have a significant impact on the speed, quality and cost of the AZ development portfolio, the overall success of the Pharmaceutical Development as well as ensuring the commercial viability of the medicine.

You will
Manage your own work to achieve drug and improvement project targets by applying technical knowledge and expertise.
Contribute to internal and external project work and other improvement activities.
Assess, record and report data. Draw authoritative conclusions and make recommendations
Prepare documentation and formal reports
Assist with regulatory documentation.
Apply technical knowledge to improvement projects and the evaluation of new technology/processes.
Collaborate with specialist scientific and/or technology networks within Pharmaceutical Development and external networks.
Work as a member of cross-functional teams, with a large degree of independence.....
