Lynk&Co Design is part of Geely Design Global, a multi-cultural organization with seven well-equipped studios in Shanghai, Gothenburg, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, Coventry, Hethel and Los Angeles, with total staff of approximately 900. These design studios, with top class design teams and the latest tools in design development, are responsible for the creation of a unique design language for each of Geely's brands; Geely, Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, Proton, Lotus and London Taxi.

As an Exterior Lighting Studio Design Engineer, you are an active link between Design and Engineering departments. You are also providing internal support to the Design department regarding technical, conceptual, and legislative constraints and opportunities within Exterior lighting.
This is a truly cross functional role where you will be the voice of design , communicating design intents and need, to Engineering in an international environment. Based in Lindholmen, Gothenburg, you will be contributing to realizing design themes from sketch into production.
To thrive in this role, we believe you are an experienced engineer with a passion for Creative Automotive Design and an ability to drive, motivate and convince, using all your mediating skills. We also believe you need to be a true team player and have an ability to take a leading role as well as to work independently. International travels will be needed.

Main focus in your role

- Being the internal Engineering support within Design, engineer feasible solutions to support design intent.
- Managing and documenting agreements between Design and Engineering, mediate and drive compromises within your area.
- Translating engineering and legislative requirements into design possibilities.
- Understand and implement technical input and limitations in the design models.
- Manage and drive interface meetings between Design and Engineering.
- Document feasibility of design themes and raise critical issues.
- Support clay model development.
- Set up new light concepts in Catia and optical software.
- Secure up-to date competence in continuity. i.e Benchmark all competitors. Physically and A2mac1.
- Tech scouting and arranging presentations/workshops with innovation companies and suppliers within the Lighting field.
- Be updated on existing manufacturing methods and technologies.
- Enhancing knowledge regarding legal requirements for exterior lighting on all markets.


Qualifications and key attributes

- B.Sc., M.Sc. Eng or equivalent, +7 years solid relevant working experience
- Strong communication skills
- Deep Exterior Lighting development and project knowledge
- Automotive product concept and component design experience on Exterior light areas.
- Optical software experience (SPEOS, Lucidshape, Light tools)
- Catia and Teamcenter experience
- Cultural awareness, especially Asian - European culture

You are not afraid of conflicts and you have excellent communication skills. You have a high level of creativity, and drive. You thrive in cross functional collaboration constellations, with a humble and knowledge-sharing attitude.
