The British Embassy in Sweden is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are looking for a Facilities Support Officer.
Main purpose of job:
As Facilities Support Officer you will ensure the highest standards of hygiene, manage household supplies and assist in the smooth running of the UK Ambassador's residence, including assisting with running official events and meetings. This role requires discretion and ensuring the privacy and security of the occupants and guests at our residence.
Roles and responsibilities:
. Work with the Estates Manager to ensure that all planned and reactive maintenance for office and residential property is completed.
. Carry out minor repairs including plumbing, carpentry and painting.
. Maintain and ensure functionality of lighting, fixtures, doors and windows.
. Ensure the grounds and common areas are clean, safe, and presentable.
. Support other members of the Estates team as required. This involves supporting
Embassy cleaning staff in the event of absence.
. Ensure compliance with Swedish and UK health and safety standards.
. Monitor and maintain tools, machinery and Embassy assets.
. Complete required administration to ensure that accurate records are maintained.
. Work with all internal stakeholders and external contractors as necessary.
. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
. Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs or works.
. Provide local technical expertise, escalating to Technical Works Officers where required.



Essential on arrival:
. Ability to understand and communicate with wide range of internal and external stakeholders
. Basic knowledge of local health and safety laws and procedures
. Effective written and spoken Swedish (at least B level)
. Effective written and spoken English (B level)
. Basic Computer skills - MS Office

This is a part time contract (30h) per week.
