Facility Manager

Facility Manager

Arbetsbeskrivning

Know your way around facility management?
In this new role, you will provide us with the on-the-ground support we need to improve patient safety globally.
Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is a non-profit foundation and centre for medicine safety and scientific research. Our vision is a world where all patients and health professionals make wise therapeutic decisions in their use of medicines. Our mission is to support and promote patient safety through effective global pharmacovigilance practice. UMC explores the benefits and risks of medicines to help minimise harm to patients, and offers products and services used by health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry. For more than 40 years, UMC has provided scientific leadership and operational support to the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring.
What you will do
We’re looking for an outgoing and organised individual to take up a new position at our office in Uppsala. As our facility manager, you will provide a safe and statutory compliant working environment for all UMC employees and be responsible for the strategic management, administration and planning of business support functions, including premises and interior design, safety issues, and logistics.
Used to supervising staff, you will lead, support and coach an experienced hardworking team of administrative assistants, whose responsibilities range from purchasing office supplies, furniture and equipment to making travel arrangements and organising conferences and events. You will have your own budget and report to our CFO as part of Finance & Core Services.
Who you are
We think you’re the type of person who enjoys the day-to-day details of their job, overseeing office maintenance and routines, but also someone who can plan ahead and manage longer-term objectives and improvements based on the needs of the whole organisation. Your work will involve liasing with our landlord and interior designers and developing an emergency response plan for the safety and security of our premises.
Since the way we work is increasingly digital your success will depend on a good understanding of how digital tools can support and improve our business processes. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Office 365, GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar and Sales Force would be to your advantage.
Your qualifications
You must be able to show previous experience in the role of facility manager or from a position with similar responsibilities. You are used to running workplace change projects including coordination, planning, contract negotiations, staffing, budgeting and follow up. Ideally you have a degree or equivalent qualification in higher education, preferably in economics, technology or another relevant field. Furthermore, you have excellent skills in written and spoken Swedish and English.
About this job
This is a full-time position based at UMC’s office in central Uppsala. UMC follows the agreements between the Swedish Agency for Government Employers and Saco-S and ST.
How to apply
Please send your CV and cover letter, marked with the reference number 2020-16, to job@who-umc.org by 27 September 2020.
