Under the overall supervision of the Associate Academic Dean of WMU you are expected to provide administrative and clerical support for the activities of the university?s teaching and research programmes. As Faculty Assistant to
relevant members of the faculty at WMU, you will assist in keeping WMU positioned as an academic institution of excellence and help advance the institution and its reputation.
Specific duties for the Senior Faculty Assistant (SFA) include the functions indicated below as may be relevant to each
incumbent:
Provide support to the Associate Dean in the coordination and delivery of the Malmo MSc Program including dissertations at Malmö;
Supports the annual International Field Study Program in support of MSc Specialization Heads and participating faculty members, including Visa acquirement;
Providing Support to the Associate Academic Dean on the MSc program in Outreach (China) Program Initiatives;
General Assistance to Faculty members and students;
Assistance to Malmö MSC Programs and Specializations;
Assistance to Conference PDCs and External Seminar activities;
Assistance to Visiting/Adjunct Professors;
Expected qualifications and experience:
University degree BA/BSc (or equivalent graduate diploma and experience) at the FA/SFA level;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Fluency in English;
Proficiency in Office Technology (Microsoft Office, mail, internet);
Solid administrative and secretarial skills;
Experience in office work (correspondence, filing, data collection, etc);
Ability to work with little guidance or supervision;
Cross-cultural sensitivity; ability to operate in an educational, international and multi-cultural working environment;
Flexibility, enthusiasm and tact.
