The Field Support Technician is a position based close too or inside the wind farms of the Service Areas in the Nordic Region. The purpose of this position is to deliver on site technical support as well as implementing technical improvements for the local field operations in the Nordic Region. Being responsible for wind turbine availability means physically troubleshooting turbines with low availability on site in various wind farms as well as analyzing data and other information to be able to create and support implementing action plans that will increase availability in the fleet. These include but are not limited to: on site performance analysis, on site actin plan implementation, ServiceNow ticket handling, analyzing data, analyzing reports, close cooperation with Technicians and Back Office staff, performing on the job demonstrations, on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines, on site software and hardware updates, on line and on phone technical support, creating reports on turbine or turbine components and also parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary. The Field Support Technician should also go to site in case special works are being performed to physically support the local technicians.
YOUR TASKS
Area windfarm availability improvement - Mainly but not limited to physical work in the turbine e.g. Physical trouble shooting on turbines with low availability
On site Implementation of “Special Measures” on the turbine - Mainly but not limited to physical work in the turbine e.g. testing a new generator internal heat exchanger up-tower cleaning procedure
On site and remote operational technical support - Including but not limited to physical work in the turbine e.g. adjust a generator P+F speed sensor according to specification
Monitoring of availability to identify trends - Mainly but not limited to desktop tasks e.g. extracting availability figures from ADM
On the job demonstrations - Mainly but not limited to physical work in the turbine e.g. demonstrating to local technicians how to exchange a gear oil filter
Feedback to HQ on reoccurring issues - Mainly but not limited to desktop tasks e.g. creation and handling of Quality Notifications
Site parameter changes/control - Mainly but not limited to desktop tasks e.g. compare actual turbine parameters with wind farm specific parameter lists
On site software updates - Mainly but not limited to physical work in the turbine e.g. perform NC2 update to rev.27 on K08 gamma turbine
Education and Qualifications:
Wind turbine technician Course
Mechanical and/or Electrical qualification
BasU/P certification (for Sweden)
Computer and software handling
Experience:
Must have Experience in wind Industry technician role
Must have experience in planning and executing large works from start to finish
Must have experience in troubleshooting on wind turbines
Must be Health and Safety aware
Ideally have experience in using data to analyze faults and trends on machines/industry
Ideally have experience giving technical support and instruction on site as well as by phone
Skills/Personal Profile:
Able to work at heights
Systematic problem solving behavior
Good technical skills
Good practical troubleshooting skills
Hands on practical work experience
Good Analytical skills
Good communication skills and willing to be available for on-site and phone support
Good planning and organizational skills
Willing to travel regularly, including nights away from home.
Computer literate strong on SAP and Microsoft products
Can work well in a team or autonomously
