The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) is offering a traineeship of a minimum of 2 months working with our finance/logistics/administration officer on the MSB's mine detection project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).The traineeship will start in the middle of October.There exist good opportunities for employment after the trainee period. JOB DESCRIPTION The main task of the trainee will be to help the finance/logistics/administration officer with the following daily tasks: Budget, local contracts and procurements. Managing accounts, payments, treasury, payroll, and the financial system.Ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timely submission of internal and external financing reporting.Developing and implementing internal and external audit methods. Establishing local employment contracts.And overall support to the Chief of Mission on human resource issues. Maintaining a coordinating role and being able to delegate tasks to co-workers.Managing logistics operations within the project.Liaising with the operations manager and supervisors regarding necessary stores and equipment requested; submitting requirements to the procurement department.Being responsible for the maintenance and regular update of the stores and equipment inventory database.Management and coordination of the service and maintenance of the vehicle fleet ensuring that the designated drivers adhere to the set procedures.QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Experience from work involving economic or logistic tasks.EDUCATION Bachelor or equivalent university degree in economics, logistics or human resources. LANGUAGES Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.A working knowledge of French is highly desirable.OTHER REQUIREMENTS Candidates must be physically capable and medically fit to work and travel and are required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination by a licensed physician before contracted. PROFILE We are looking for women and men with a strong commitment to work in humanitarian relief and disaster operations.It is of outmost priority that the candidate understands, respects and acts in the spirit of the mandate and the core values of the MSB.The candidate must possess a high level of professional and personal maturity together with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with colleagues, supervisors and external partners, such as UN organisations, NGOs, recipient governments and host populations.He or she must be able to interact with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender in a multi-cultural environment.It is essential to have a capacity to work under pressure, often in difficult and demanding conditions, where focus frequently shifts due to changes in priority.The candidate is expected to have excellent analytical and communicative skills, show initiative and take both a hands-on and an analytical approach to tasks and problems.Working with the MSB on an overseas operation means that personnel are temporarily employed by the MSB.MSB pays wages, insurances, travel costs and subsistence allowance during the operation.In addition, participants in introduction courses and relevant specialist training courses receive remuneration from MSB.DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION
