We are looking for a driven and independent financial assistant for our client that operates within the pharmaceutical sphere. You will be working with colleagues in an international and welcoming environment. An office in central Gothenburg with remote/flexible working. You will be hired as a consultant with immediate start and with the possibility of a permanent position for the successful candidate. You will work collaboratively with the Nordic/Benelux controller lead.
Main responsibilities:
As a Financial Assistant, you will act as an integral team member in a reporting function. You will be the gatekeeper between the Local Nordic team and the Finance Shared Service Center (FSSC) in the UK. The accounting element is handled by the FSSC, such as bookkeeping, AP, AR, and more daily.
You will receive exposure to both internal and external stakeholders across the organization. You will be the local expert and a service provider for the Nordic market and more.
Focus areas for this position:
· Liaise with and support communication with internal and external parties such as auditors, Banks, tax authorities, payroll providers, business units, stakeholders and internal management team, maintaining a close relationship with relevant teams and managers within the organization.
· Review the VAT, additional tax returns and payments and ensure all returns and compliance areas relating to all Nordic authorities are adhered to on time.
· Involve with the audit and preparation of the year-end statutory accounts for all Nordic markets, with ownership of preparing information for internal and external audits with the help of the FSSC team.
· Assist in the monthly reconciliation reviews of the Balance Sheet with the FSSC team.
· Assist in the Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly end reports with the Controller lead.
· Ad hoc task and projects
Qualifications and Experience:
We are looking for you who want to be the critical examining eye for the Nordic markets and first in line contact with their Finance Shared Service Center in the UK. The role offers you excellent development potential as you attain a high degree of personal responsibility. Experience in VAT, taxes and the overall understanding of accounting principles is essential. You must have knowledge of working in a complex organization.
The role will fit a self-driven, highly motivated, intelligent, proactive, exceptional eye for detail and not lose sight of the winder view individual.
An academic degree in Finance or accounting and/or 1 to 3 years of experience working in a finance/accounting role is a plus. Keep in mind that for this position, you need to have the ability to analytically review information, independently take on your responsibilities and work with great curiosity to support their Finance Shared Service Center with local issues. Excellent communication skills with people at all levels in the organization, both in-person and writing. Experience in larger ERP systems is an advantage.
Personal Characteristics:
This role will work independently in a small team where your manager works partly in the Gothenburg & UK office. All other contact takes place interactively and in English, as language comprehension becomes a requirement. We see a forward, curious and willing person to push in processes.
