Financial Assistant to Civil Rights Defenders in Stockholm

About the role
As Financial Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring that all parts of the accounting are up to date according to schedule and that the project administration is in good order. You will also manage registration and control as well as reporting payroll materials in contact with our external payroll vendor in collaboration with HR.

In this position you will work closely with the Head of Accounting and Reporting, the Accountant and support Controllers in project administration activities.

As Financial Assistant you report to the Head of Accounting and Reporting.

Your key activities will be to:

- Update book-keeping with daily transactions
- Track and reconcile bank statements
- Reconcile balance sheets
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Update expense reports
- Manage bank payments
- Reconcile monthly time reports
- Adjust time reporting between projects
- Upload project budgets to financial system
- Support controllers in project administration
- Provide administrative support during audits
- Participate in maintaining order in relevant folders on Sharepoint


About you
As a person, you like to analyse numerical data and other sources of information to break them down into components, patterns, and relationships. This position requires good verbal and written communication skills in English and Swedish, meaning that you can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers possible without strain and that you can produce both clear and detailed text.

To be suitable for this role you have:

- A High school education, preferably in business administration
- 1 - 3 years of relevant professional work experience with financial accounting systems
- Great skills in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, PPT, Word), especially Excel


Documented experience from NGO-work is preferable. Other merits for the position are:

- Experience from working in Deltek Maconomy accounting system
- Financial YH or University education in accounting
- Experience of project management activities
- Experience from working in larger financial accounting system


About the employment
This is a full-time permanent employment with a 6-month probationary, starting in October 2021 or according to agreement.
