Financial Controller

About the role
As a Financial Controller at Essity, you will be working with consolidation and controlling of financial reporting from Essity’s Group companies. You will work closely with our colleagues around the world in subsidiaries, our global shared service organization, and other departments within Group Finance. You will be a part of develop the Essity Finance manual, providing technical expertise and advice on complex accounting and serve as point of contact for users regarding reporting and Group consolidation system queries. You will also have an important role to contribute to our strategy to drive efficiency and to digitalize our processes and way of working.
The position will report to the Financial Control Director and the position is located at the Essity head office in the Waterfront Building, just a couple of minutes from the Stockholm Central Station. We offer you to be part of an international business setting with many contacts across different functions and countries. The Stockholm office includes around 120 experts from the group functions Finance, Legal, Human Resources and Communications, as well as the CEO office.

What does Consolidation team do
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accounts within given time frames.
More concrete, this means, among other things;
- Closing adjustments and other consolidation tasks such as reconciliation and analyzes of the reporting from the subsidiaries in Essity's consolidation system Aaro
- Internal matching and elimination of all internal transactions
- Reconciliation of Group’s equity
- Cash flow reporting
- IAS 19 Pension reporting
- Follow-up of restructuring projects
- Preparation of financial statements and notes in the interim/year-end/annual reports
Support with integration of acquired entities for financial reporting in Aaro according to Essity accounting principles
Dispatch of instructions
Contribute to further development and improvements of our accounting guidelines, routines, and processes
Work towards creative and technological solutions to better manage and automatize workflows together with controls and drive efficiency, end-to-end
Educate and proactively support business units and our global shared service organization in matters of accounting and reporting
Participate in implementation of new IFRS standards
Drive and be involved in projects and add-hoc tasks within the Consolidation team and the Finance organization
Who You Are

You have:
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant area
Minimum 5 years’ experience from accounting, consultancy/audit firm
Experience from working with a consolidation system, is a merit
Proficiency in Microsoft applications
Fluent in English and Swedish with excellent communication skills from a multi-cultural environment
