We are looking for you to come and join our Finance Team in the role as Financial Controller. You will join a team of 3 colleagues located in Sweden, Denmark, and Lithuania supporting financial activities within the Nordic-Baltic cluster. In this the role, you will be responsible for internal and statutory reporting for the Sweden and Finland markets.
About the position
As a Financial Controller you will be responsible for the financial reporting (both IFRS and Local GAAP) and all direct and indirect taxes for your respective markets. You will have support from both internal and external teams, but it is your responsibility to ensure compliance with AZ global standards as well as local legislation. In this role it is therefore important that you remain updated on the relevant countries’ legislation for financial reporting and tax. It will also be essential to establish an efficient cooperation with internal mid-office and back-office finance teams as well as maintaining regular interaction with EY, external auditors and tax authorities.
You will lead the monthly (quarterly/year-end) closing process for your markets and ensure correct and timely submission of tax returns, financial controls (SOX, financial control frameworks), etc. AstraZeneca is committed to sustainability and you will therefore be an important part in driving further optimization and simplification of financial systems and processes.

In order to succeed in this role, you have:
• M.Sc. or equivalent in Finance or other relevant discipline
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles and their application (local GAAP and IFRS)
• Strong knowledge of SAP
• Excellent communication skills and fluent in both written and spoken English
• Leadership - ability to remotely, through use of digital tools, coordinate, align and engage different teams to drive activities
Your former experience from working as an auditor as well as experience from co-operating in a diverse and inclusive business environment would be an advantage.
In this role you will align with stakeholders and colleagues via digital solutions. It is therefore important that you feel comfortable with current technologies and have previous experience of handling daily interactions with teams with various cultural and educational backgrounds.
