With the organisation now scaling globally, we're looking for an outstanding Financial Controller. The Financial Controller is a brand new role in Joint Academy’s Finance team with Swedish as well as European responsibility. The position reports directly to the CFO and is based at our Malmö office.
You will be a key team member in identifying and driving process improvements in a fast-paced growing organisation. We seek a person who loves financial data and enjoys going into the detail without losing sight of the bigger picture. You are a strong network and relationship builder both within and outside the organisation. We believe that you are a communicator with capacity to influence decisions and create energy and commitment. It is important that you can handle a constantly changing environment with many different stakeholders and demands.
Core responsibilities
Responsible for all financial reporting matters
Production of Group/Regional accounting with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of consolidated accounts
Producing monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for Executive Leadership and Board
Forecasting and budgeting - Develop and maintain the company's financial planning process ensuring that long-term financial and strategic targets are met
Responsible for preparing and submitting the annual financial statements in accordance with applicable regulations. (Swedish GAAP and IFRS experience advantageous)
Cash flow analysis and cash flow forecasts
Support the development of global financial processes and future ERP system implementation
Responsible for the correct settlement of taxes, external regulatory and statutory obligations including co-operation with auditors at year end
Compliance in financial processes, maintaining accounting records and procedures
Ad hoc analyse for Executive Leadership and other group functions. Work with leaders across the wider organisation to focus on technical expertise

Requirements
Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting / Finance or a related field (ACA or ACCA preferred)
Big 4 audit experience preferred
7-10 years of accounting experience in a similar role or responsibilities in a global organisation
Knowledge of Swedish GAAP and IFRS experience advantageous
Ability to communicate and influence confidently and clearly in English and in Swedish
Experience in implementing ERP financial systems and global processes
An energetic and enthusiastic professional who doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats
Experienced in handling a wide range of accounting tasks and able to work independently
You are data-driven and have strong analytical skills complemented by very good presentation skills
Well organised, flexible and enjoys varying challenges of developing the finance function in a growing global organisation
