Financial Process Analyst

We are now looking to further strengthen our Accounting team with a Financial Process Analyst.

About the Role

Storytel is a fast-growing company and as a Financial Process Analyst at Storytel you will work in a highly international environment with stakeholders and colleagues across our global organization. You will participate in various accounting-related projects and, as Storytel grows, you will be involved in financial process improvements for current markets as well as integrations of our expansions into future markets. Your role in these projects will be to prepare analyses of the implications from an accounting perspective, set up and document routines for the accounting team, and make sure that they are implemented successfully. You will be delivering recommendations, challenging the status quo, and driving specific project deliveries.

Together with colleagues from our legal team you will supervise and coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements and corporate tax returns, which are prepared by the Storytel accounting team as well as by external service providers. You will review annual reports to ensure high quality and adherence to local regulations and make sure that they are filed within statutory deadlines.

About the Team

As the Financial process analyst, you will report to our Finance Manager and as part of the accounting team you will join a happy bunch of colleagues, all working together to make Storytel better each day. Today we are 13 in the Accounting team, and we are expanding the team with this role. The role will have close collaboration with our Technical accounting specialist, who is responsible for a majority of the group-wide accounting-related projects.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will understand the practical application of accounting and finance concepts in support of operation and finance activities. This role requires an enthusiastic and highly motivated professional capable of working in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with various business stakeholders in administering day-to-day operations. You are a self-starter who can prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, navigate complexities, and be successful in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

To be successful in this role we believe that you have the following qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Solid core accounting skills (K3 and IFRS)
- Exceptional analytical skills, with high attention to detail, demonstrating an ability to identify root causes, generate and evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions


And for some bonus points:

- Experience from hands-on work in a financial system or a genuine system interest
- Audit experience
