Fire Saftey Engineer

Are you an analytical Fire safety engineer interested in developing the next generation of submarines and surface ships? Then this is a unique opportunity to join the crew!



Your role

As a Fire safety engineer, you have an important role in the safe design of our submarines and surface ships. Your purpose is to support the fulfillment of fire safety regulations in the design process, contributing to a safe work environment for the crews that operate the ships. You will perform analyses in areas such as holistic fire protection, passive and active fire protection measures, requirements on fire protection systems, design of fire preventing solutions, and selection of materials.



Your main tasks will be:

Interpretation and application of fire safety regulations and standards
*

Coordinate and perform fire tests for non-standard design approval
*

Perform fire safety analysis and calculations



You will work from our office in Malmö, however for the right candidate placement in Karlskrona is a possibility. The work may involve some business travel, both within Sweden and abroad.


Your profile

In your role as a fire safety engineer, you are analytical, good at risk assessment, and you have the ability to understand complex technical systems in naval applications. You are also team oriented and a good communicator, combined with thoroughness and curiosity.

Required skills:

*

Relevant engineering degree (eg. fire, risk/safety, etc.)
*

Excellent knowledge in the Microsoft Office suite
*

Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written



Desired skills:

*

Experience from work with fire safety
*

Experience from naval ships/shipbuilding, automotive, aviation, nuclear, process, or oil & gas industries



This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
