First CFD Analysis Engineer - Thermodynamics

The Thermodynamics section, belonging to Environment & Fluid Dynamics department, has a long tradition of using CFD as a tool for engineering and design processes. We are currently 21 persons working within the section, responsible for attribute requirements, verification methods, planning and performing both CFD analysis and physical test in all phases of vehicle programs, both individually and in teams. An important part of our work is to continuously improve our working processes and methods. We work together with system/attribute leaders, analysis engineers, stylists, designers and suppliers to develop and verify our systems and components in our future vehicles. Furthermore, close cooperation with universities and participation in global research programs are an essential part of our long term development.
As a First CFD Analysis Engineer within the Thermodynamics section you will be involved in planning and performing CFD analysis in all phases of vehicle programs as well as support and involvement in our physical testing in our wind tunnels. You will also support the attribute CFD method development to meet our future challenges. You will establish and develop relationships with representatives from many areas of the vehicle meaning you will build and maintain a wide personal network within Volvo Car Group. Main responsibilities
* Plan and perform Thermodynamic CFD simulations and give recommendation of design changes to reach our requirement targets
* Develop CAE working processes and tools within the area
* Take part in our CFD method development of new advanced methods (Transient and coupled radiation/convection/conduction)
* Supervising thesis workers and act as a mentor for new employees
* Support and participate in physical testing
Required qualifications
* MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
* At least 3 years of industrial and/or academic experience in CFD
* Experience from automotive CFD within the attribute thermodynamics
* Skills in the tools we use: ANSA, StarCCM+, Ansys/Fluent, Radtherm, Harpoon and EnSight.
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver´s license B (car)
* Experience in programming/scripting is meritorious
* Fluent in Swedish, written and spoken is meritorious
