First line manager, Autonomous Transport Solutions Research

Are you looking for a job that combines leadership with cutting edge technology? We are now hiring a first line manager within Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Research, Scania R&D.

The department Autonomous Systems has the mission to bring the best autonomous solutions to the customers. Our section, ATS Research, conducts pre-development and applied research, focusing on the latest technology within self-driving systems. Our work is strongly value driven with the aim to create future customer value. We operate in agile teams that work in close cooperation with the Volkswagen group, leading technology suppliers and academic institutions, with the ambition to detect and evaluate upcoming technologies. Both our research and practical experiments shall iteratively lead to concepts for industrialisation. One of our major initiatives the upcoming years is to develop a self-driving system for prototype buses that will be a part of Qatar Mobility in 2022.

Your responsibilities

You will be forming and leading a new agile team within ATS Research. The team will consist of research engineers and software developers. The team's main task is algorithm development and deployment in a data pipeline from sensors (cameras, lidars etc). Software is developed using e.g. C++, CUDA and CMake.

Your most important task is to provide the pre-requisites needed for your employees to be successful in their job, every day. The work approach is iterative development and the rapid prototyping enabled by a flexible platform for the autonomous vehicles.

Your profile

As a leader, you are a responsive and accessible team player that values collaboration. Together with your team, you drive the technical development forward. You grow with responsibility and have a holistic approach to challenges. You are passionate about your work and manage change in a sustainable manner.

You have leadership experience and an academic background that matches our domain; at least at M.Sc. level. It is meritorious if you have experience in software development or in research.
