Flight Operations Engineer

SAS Scandinavia’s Flight Operations Engineering team consists of Subject Matter Experts covering flight safety critical operational/technical areas such as flight crew documentation, emergency equipment, aircraft performance, navigational data, mass & balance, aerodrome approvals, Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and ACARS/Datalink. 

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain airplane operational manuals (e.g. OM-B, FCOM, QRH, MEL) and other technical-operational instructions and information for flight/cabin crew required for the safe, legal and efficient operation of all aircraft 
* Maintain liaison with CAMO, aircraft manufacturers and other operators in technical-operational matters 
* Maintain proficiency regarding aircraft systems and operation and applicable rules and regulations as required for assigned tasks 
* Answer/follow up pilot and cabin crew safety reports of technical-operational nature 
* Support the Performance, Mass & Balance and EFB specialists in their respective fields of expertise. 
* Lead/participate in projects where Flight Ops Engineering competence is required 


Requirements and Qualifications

* Previous experience in Flight Operations Engineering, e.g. aircraft performance, mass and balance engineering, is desired 
* Preferably hold at least a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering or equivalent 
* Proficiency in English (excellent verbal and writing skills). In addition, at least one Scandinavian language is desired 
* Familiarity with Civil Aviation Regulations, such as EASA Air Ops, is advantageous 


It is meritorious if you have the following:
* Experience from implementing and using lean principles or equivalent to improve safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness  
* Current or previous pilot license of any kind

Please note that working in this role requires an EU work permit.

The position is a full-time position (40h/week) with six weeks of vacation per year. We offer flexible working hours, possibility to regularly work remotely and attractive traveler advantages and wellness allowance. Position is located at SAS Head Office, Frösundavik, Stockholm.
