Our first aircraft is the ES-19, a nineteen-passenger airliner with an operating range of 400 km. The ES-19 is a fully electric aircraft, and our goal is to have the aircraft certified for commercial operation by 2026.

Your place of work will be at our main office and hangar facility. This is located at Säve Airport in Gothenburg, Sweden. Relocation assistance can be provided. We seek an experienced and motivated flight test engineer to join our small, fast moving team developing a new electric aircraft in Sweden. We’re in a very expansive phase and now is the time to join our team.

Role Overview

You will report to the Chief Flight Test Engineer and will be responsible for the safe and effective planning and execution of a specific flight test phase.

You will be able to:

Work closely with the engineering design and certification teams to ensure all planned activity meets test requirements and company timescales.

Ensure test aircraft configuration, build standard and serviceability are properly recorded and sufficient for test.

Ensure aircraft documentation for the flight test activity is in order.

Ensure flight test instrumentation and data recording is sufficient for the planned activity.

-
Review supporting safety assessments, flight test documentation, operating procedures and limitations.

-
Produce flight test programmes, plans and test cards – identifying test conditions and appropriate test techniques.

-
Develop flight trials hazard analyses and risk assessments.

Participate in flight trials readiness reviews and flight test safety reviews.

Co-ordinate sortie briefing / de-briefing and conduct testing either within the telemetry ground station or onboard the test aircraft.

Report findings in a timely manner and maintain accurate documentation.

-
Review supporting safety assessments, flight test documentation, operating procedures and limitations.

-
Participate in the development of aircraft flight manuals, check lists and related publications.


Qualifications & Experience:

-
Completed at least 50Hrs of Cat 1 or Cat 2 flight testing.

-
A minimum of 5 years experience on developmental or experimental flight test programmes.

-
Experience with aircraft certification programs through the entire design, development & certification lifecycle (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25).

-
Direct experience with early-stage formation of a Flight Test Organisation is preferable.

-
Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English.

Eagerness to work with others.

Passion for aircraft and Heart’s mission.


The ideal candidate would have:

-
Graduated from a recognised Test Pilot School or equivalent.

-
A sound knowledge of aircraft performance, airborne systems, human factors, stability/control & handling qualities.

-
EASA Part-MED Class 2 aircrew medical or equivalent.
