Today 30% of fruits and vegetables produced in the world is wasted due to losses in the supply chain. We at Saveggy have the mission to help the world waste less. Our bio-based edible vegan coating extends the shelf life of fresh fruits and vegetable. We are a dedicated group of scientists and engineers with a multi-disciplinary background. We need to reinforce our technology development team with a formulation scientist.
Job Description
The Formulation scientist for food coating is responsible for identifying and developing innovative technologies to create novel food coating projects for new launches.
Responsibilities:
Work independently in creating and improving formulation from the beginning stages
Upkeep clear and accurate records of formulations, procedures, observations, results
Develop and manage formula qualification, related documentation lab scale up, and production scale up
Adhere to project timelines and product development schedule
Conduct stability testing and maintain the relevant data
Maintain working knowledge of raw material innovations and emerging research in the food science field by proactively researching new concepts, materials, and processes
Contribute to routine laboratory housekeeping and day-to-day operations of the laboratory
Maintain a working knowledge of regulations for active ingredient regulations
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
MSc in Food Science, Biotechnology, or both
Minimum 2 years of experience from working in the food industry
Minimum 6 months of experience from working with food coating
Experience working in a laboratory environment
Fluent in written and verbal English
Exceptional organisation and attention to details
Energetic multi-tasker who can thrive in a fast-paced environment
Adaptable to changing tasks, assigned responsibilities, and priorities
Strong interpersonal communication
Ability to work as part of functional and cross-functional teams
Self-starter, motivated in an environment that requires creativity and collaboration
You will be working in a very close collaboration with our partner Lund’s University. The preliminary work location is in Lund, Sweden.
