Department of Oriental Languages JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (CENTRE FOR PACIFIC ASIA STUDIES, CPAS) ref no SU 614-2168-07 Responsibilities: The post is primarily a research position, although a certain degree of teaching at the university level is also included.Certain administrative duties may also be included in this position.The minimum qualification for this post is a doctoral degree or the equivalent.Applicants who have been awarded their degree no more than five years prior to the close of the application period will be given priority.Applicants who have completed their degree earlier than this will be considered if there are special reasons warranting their inclusion.Such reasons include illness, national service, a position of responsibility within a trade union or student organisation, maternity/paternity leave or other similar circumstances.The appointment is renewable up to a maximum of four years.Selection Criteria.Applicants should present documented evidence of, in the first instance, their research expertise within the field of East Asian Economics, and, secondarily, their teaching ability, relevant to the field of East Asian Economics.Their portfolio should demonstrate their scholarly and professional expertise, including fluency in English and proficiency in the language, history, and culture of at least one East Asian country, as well as an ability to disseminate research and development, and any relevant administrative experience.Applications are to be in English according to the format prescribed by the Template for application for employment and for promotion to the rank of Professor or Senior Lecturer at Stockholm University (at http://www.su.se/nyanstallning) following the guidelines specified for applications for a post as Senior Lecturer, with the following three exceptions: . a brief statement (maximum: 5 A4 pages) of the applicant's research plan as a junior research fellow, including information on how his or her project will make a significant contribution to research within the Centre, should be enclosed.. two letters of recommendation (to be sent separately).. the application is to be submitted in three (3) copies . the doctoral dissertation, whether published or unpublished, is to be included in the list of scholarly publications referred to; a copy of the doctoral dissertation is obligatory when the applicant subsequently is requested to send his/her publications to the evaluating experts Always quote the reference number in the application.Applicants are recommended to consult the guideline for "Documentation of qualifications for employment as a teacher at Stockholm University" at http://www.su.se/nyanstallning For further information, contact the Departmental Chair, Prof.Applications (quoting the reference number SU 614-2168-07) are to be sent to: Stockholm University, Registrar/PA, SE - 106 91 Stockholm, Sweden All applications must be received no later than November 9th, 2007.
