FPGA Designer

On behalf of our client we are looking for a FPGA Designer: Vacon is one of the world's fastest growing manufacturers of low-voltage AC drives and concentrates in all its business only on developing AC drives. One of Vacon's strategic choices is product leadership. Product leadership requires long-term R&D efforts and thus Vacon invests in R&D strongly. The company has product development units in four countries. The number of R&D personnel has also grown significantly, and the number of employees working on Vacon's R&D is over 150 worldwide. FPGA Designer Vacon is strengthening their product development and are now looking for FPGA specialist to join the Software team in R&D Vaasa, Finland. Your main task is to design digital parts of embedded systems for frequency converters. Your expertise shall cover one or more design areas such as FPGA designs, VHDL language and soft processors cores including driver and C based software design. Verification and simulation and practical testing are an important part of your job. You will work in close cooperation with other R&D teams. Also cooperation with global component suppliers and subcontractors is one of your tasks. To succeed in this position, you will have an appropriate technical degree (M.Sc., B.Sc. or Technician) in embedded software or electronics, good practical experience in FPGA design, embedded system design and implementation. You have also at least a fair command of English, and you are ready for both hands-on work and writing reports and specifications. Knowledge of control algorithms and power electronics is an asset.
