An exciting opportunity has become available to join Nouryon’s trade compliance team. In this role you will execute the strategy and implementation of a sophisticated trade, classification, and preferential origin qualification program. This position is based at the Regional Logistics Hub in Gothenburg and reports directly to the Global Logistics Improvement Leader.


Main responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for the trade-related requirements and regional execution of global harmonized schedule classification, free trade agreement qualification and tracking, and executing the procedures provided by the Nouryon Trade Compliance team. You will serve as a cross-functional coordinator who is involved in the import/export process to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies, including, but not limited to, programs related to import/export declarations, documentation, Free Trade Agreement assessment and certification.
Further responsibilities:
Manage proper use and maintenance of product classification (HTS/HS/NCM/EU Commodity) databases as directed by Nouryon Trade Compliance. Properly assign WCO Harmonized System classifications as assigned to Nouryon products.
Conduct system checks for import and export controls and ensure that declarations are correct.
Work with business to maintain and create accurate preferential and non-preferential certificates of origin.
Support the delivery and execution of a standardized, compliant global free trade agreement and program to support global business in coordination with the Trade Compliance Team



Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering and mathematic (or a relevant business field)
Minimum of 3 years import/export experience with emphasis on customs regulations, classification, and free trade agreements.
Subject matter expert level knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff System with major emphasis of Chapters 28 to 38 for chemicals and chemical products.
Subject matter expert level knowledge of and practical experience with Free Trade Agreements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is required.
Ability to travel regionally and globally as required, with reasonable planning and notice.


You have previous experience managing the license or certificate lifecycle, ensuring communication of scope and status to all concerned parties. You also have experience working with trade compliance tools and processes, analyzing bills of material and costs. You have the ability to apply critical and creative thinking to complex problems, delivering solutions for businesses and the company, as well as demonstrated ability to manage and adjust priorities in a dynamic business environment. You also have the skill to develop and maintain interpersonal working relationships across functional and business organizational lines.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Global Improvement Leader Logistics Integrated Supply Chain, and based in Gamlestaden, Gothenburg.
