Entity Structure
IWG is a global company listed on the London Stock Exchange, is locally set up in a multi-entity Business Operating model with entities either consolidate in a fiscal unit or managed in a standalone set-up. The local entities roll up into the global structure through various global transfer pricing and service arrangements.
Job Purpose
We are looking for Freelance Statutory Accountants/Tax Accountants to manage our Statutory filings for a country plus any additional local requirements. As a Freelancer you will work from home/remotely and the working pattern is focused mainly on Year-End and Half-Year accounting periods. You will support all legal entities of the country and assist with local audits. We need someone who is used to adopting a hands-on approach.
Statutory Accountant – Key Responsibilities
• Maintain up to date documentation of local statutory requirements (deadlines, requirements, adjustments etc).
• Review and/or prepare data required for the completion of all statutory filings.
• Proactively file all requirements locally with the authorities and answer queries.
• Manage local audits.
• Act as the local expert, communicating with authorities or auditors as needed.
• Build proactive working relationships with the shared service centres.
• Assist with company secretarial activities, specific to the country.
• Undertake a range of other ad-hoc activities as the local country finance representative (i.e. one-off admin tasks required onsite or with local language dependencies).
• Manage and keep the corporate calendar up to date (deadlines, requirements, adjustments etc).
• Review and/or prepare and/or file data required for the completion of all statutory filings.
Tax Accountant – Key Responsibilities
• Manage and keep the tax calendar and documentation of local tax requirements (deadlines, requirements, adjustments etc) up to date
• Review and/or prepare data required for the completion of all tax and statutory filings (Note: the level of hands-on preparation is dependent on the country requirements and the practical cover of each task within the shared service centres)
• Proactively file all requirements locally with the authorities
• Manage local audits
• Act as the local expert, communicating with authorities or auditors as needed
• Build proactive working relationships with the shared service centres
• Undertake a range of other ad-hoc activities as the local country finance representative (i.e. one-off admin tasks required onsite or with local language dependencies)
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Accounting or Tax Qualification.
• 10 years + experience, including recent experience in a similar level role.
• Technically strong, with a working knowledge of local GAAP.
• Proven ability to meet statutory compliance obligations.
• Extensive experience of producing Statutory Accounts and Annual Reports and documents relating to company secretarial requirements.
• Flexible approach, adaptable to change.
• Excellent communication skills – previous experience of working remotely an advantage.
• Self-motivated.
• Native language relevant to the country and fluent in English.
