Field Test Engineer

Within Volvo 3P site GOT we are looking for:
Field Test Engineer
Field Test, Complete Vehicle
Field Testing is a unique way of verifying / validating Volvo's truck products in real customer operation and in the truck's real environment. The customers that we use are located worldwide. In the markets where we operate, little groups of test engineers and technicians work for the Field Test operation in Göteborg.
Field Test operates in a network of selected customers, and with their dealerships, where trained technicians are our prolonged arm. The core group of the Field Test activities, however, are located in Göteborg.

We are now looking for a test engineer to join the Göteborg's group.

Tasks and responsibilities
As a Field Testing engineer located in Göteborg, you will:
- be responsible for test objects (vehicles and/or test components on vehicles) located at Field test customers globally
- for test objects located in overseas markets, ensure coordination with the overseas engineers.
- seek and find the way to solve upcoming problems during the tests.
A typical Field test include:
- Preparations - selecting customers and perform all activities until test start
- Follow up - During the scope of the test ensure that the prerequisites of the tests are fulfilled and report faults and status back to the projects.
- Termination - After the test period arrange for finalizing the contracts with the customers, inspect and evaluate the results and write a final report.
The job includes some travelling in Sweden and overseas.

Qualifications
You have some years of experience in vehicle testing or design, or in other areas close to truck technologies and customers. You are a "högskoleingenjör" or equivalent, you are structured and have the technical level required for analysing and documenting test results. Holding a truck-driving license would be a plus.
Your native language is Swedish but you are fluent in English, both orally and in writing - specifically in writing technical reports. You are open minded and eager to work in an international environment. You like communication and can lead negotiations when necessary. You have good computer skills and a basic knowledge of the most common PC software: Word / Excel / PowerPoint.
