Front-end Developer – JavaScript (remote)

Flightradar24 is looking for an experienced Front-end Developer with extensive JavaScript development experience. You will play an important role in modernizing and developing the Flightradar24 website, and your work will improve the experience of millions of users every day.
What you’ll do
Collaborate with a small team of developers and product owners on JavaScript and web development
Be a lead contributor to the work on modernizing our website and developing and maintaining a new modern lightweight JavaScript layer
Deliver modern, testable and maintainable code
Develop features in website projects, using current web technologies including for example JavaScript / ES6, HTML5, CSS3, and Vue.js
Participate in development and maintenance of Node.js APIs supporting the website and API services
Participate in knowledge sharing and mentoring for other developers in your team

Who you are
At least 4 years experience of modern web development
Knowledge of modern and standards-compliant JavaScript development, i.e. ES6 and above
Knowledge of current web technologies including JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, and tools like Webpack and Gulp
Knowledge of responsive design practices, delivered cleanly and consistently across a wide variety of platforms, browsers and devices
Natural focus on high standards, quality, testing and unit testing, and tools like Karma, Jasmine and/or Jest
Previous work experience interacting with APIs through AJAX/JSON, and ideally also Google Maps APIs or APIs of other map providers
Familiarity with, or interest in, automated testing, continuous integration, and cloud deployment
Experience with high-performance web delivery, optimizing front-end code, page-load performance and caching is a strong plus
Experience in developing REST APIs in Node.js and/or modern PHP development is meriting but not a requirement
Strong written and spoken English – Swedish is not needed for this role
For remote position: Located within a 2 hour time difference from Stockholm timezone in order to work full time together with the team.
