Front-End Web Developer

Front-End Web Developer

Arbetsbeskrivning

Since you’ve landed on this page, you already know Hedvig is a mover and shaker in insurtech, and think you might have what it takes to join us. As the only loved insurance company in Sweden (in the world?), we’ve proven that it’s possible to disrupt an entire industry with people’s best interests at heart. But our journey is just beginning, starting with Sweden, Denmark and Norway! We’ve been working hard since the very beginning to change an industry that is hard to love – to something at least likeable. At Hedvig we believe the only way to do so is to work with loveable people.
We are currently hiring for our “Purchase Journey” team who work mostly on developing our public website. They collaborate closely with product, design, back-end, as well as app developers, to create the best experience for our customers. The website is powered by React and TypeScript. On top of this, we also use Koa, GraphQL with Apollo, and the headless CMS Storyblok.

What about the role?
As a front-end web developer at Hedvig, you will:
•Solve complex problems in our front-end projects.
•Spend time developing and improving our platform in collaboration with our designers.
•You’ll solve issues of code scalability as well as exciting UX challenges, as Hedvig expands both in number of products and to new markets.

What about you?
We look for developers who aim high and don't play it safe. We love creative problem-solvers who are not afraid to try new things and keep learning with other people.

We generally believe the following would make you a perfect fit:

•You are fluent in modern Javascript and React, preferably also Typescript.
•You have some experience with GraphQL and Apollo
•Might be familiar with headless CMS such as Storyblock
•You are comfortable with CI/CD pipelines
•You truly value knowledge sharing and learning together since you will be part of a team that enjoys pair programming and takes code reviews to heart.

What about us?
As part of the Hedvig team, you quickly notice that "general truths" are not accepted without being questioned. We're an enthusiastic group of people who love to challenge each other to find the best way forward. We don't care who says something; we care about what's being said. We put a lot of effort into building a trusting culture where freedom, collective thinking, and individual ownership have center stage. We're not perfect – far from it – but we talk about and learn from our mistakes and imperfections to improve continuously. And we have a lot of fun along the way! As individuals, as a team, and as a company.

Our HQ is in Stockholm and we offer a hybrid way of working. We’re proud to have an environment where our Hedviger’s can learn and collaborate. We’re growing fast and we want to share our success, that’s why we offer warrants for this position.

FYI: We may ask candidates to complete a Personality and Logical Thinking test in order to understand your profile better during the process. We use these tests to avoid biases in the recruitment process. You will get to see your results and hopefully learn more about yourself as well! If you have any opinions or questions about these assessments, please feel free to let us know, we like to receive feedback and continuously rethink our processes.
