The role 
As a Frontend Developer at Viaplay, you will work with the web solution for our javascript-based platforms, both web and big screens. You will build a web-based application that will run on a multitude of big-screen devices: smart TVs, game consoles, and set-top boxes. Together with your team, you will build a beautiful, robust, and well-structured application. Your work will contribute to Viaplay’s strategy to grow and continue to bring an innovative first-class streaming service to our customers.

We are hiring for the Validated Learning team, an autonomous cross-functional team with a mission to give the organization the ability to understand users’ intent and learn how they interact with our product. We provide a foundation to gather data about user behavior across all platforms and ensure data quality across devices. We also provide support for running experiments across platforms and validating the outcome. In addition to this, the Validating Learning team enables the Product teams that work on end customer-facing features.

Some of your daily tasks will include:

- Running and taking ownership of technical design, complexity assessment, development, testing, and deployment

- Collaboration with other teams in an exciting and agile development process

- Participating in weekly guild meetings with discussions around best practices, maintenance, and long-term vision

- Writing clean, reusable, legible code that is easy to test and easy to extend

- Investing in our personal skills and increasing our knowledge every day

What we are looking for 
We are looking for someone who has worked with a variety of tasks requiring complex problem-solving using JavaScript. Someone who has a good knowledge of data structure and optimization. Moreover, we believe this person gets excited and motivated about a data-driven culture. If you also have strong communication skills in English and excellent analytical skills, we would be really happy!

Successful candidates also meet the following requirements:

- Deep knowledge with 4+ years of experience in JavaScript

- Front-end skills (ie. CSS, HTML, JavaScript) and understanding of REST API:s

- Team player with a dedication to testing, code review, and other quality-oriented practices

- Enthusiasm for Agile software development

Bonus requirements that will make you stand out from the rest:

- Experience of TypeScript and backend development using Node.js

- Experience in data analysis

- Knowledge in UX
