Frontend developer to our service applications

Arbetsbeskrivning

Do you want to be a part of building the future service tool for Scania? We are now looking for a system developer with frontend skills who would like to join one of our development teams.

As a part of Scania’s transformation from a traditional vehicle manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions, we at Vehicle Service Information have embarked on an exciting journey to deliver solutions and services that meet the new demands of a digitalized and ever-changing world. This comes with new ways of thinking, working, and developing services.

Our services and products are used 24/7 by more than 15.000 technicians in Scania’s global service network to keep the rolling stock of more than 700.000 vehicles up and running to deliver on time, all the time.

Your tasks

You will initially bring frontend capabilities to our cross-functional development team. The team is currently tasked with development of the functions needed to troubleshoot the vehicles.

You will create the first MVP and then gradually add functionality until the new cloud based suite can replace and outperform the old applications. We are not just moving to a new platform, we are rethinking and improving the services so that we can deliver even more customer value.

If you aren’t already, you will have the opportunity to gradually become a full stack developer as the needs will vary over time and by the initiatives the team are working on. The team shares the responsibilities among each other and we strive together for goal fulfilment as well as team- and personal development.

We offer you to:

• Work by the strategy “build-measure-learn”, with our users always in mind
• Build a solutions using AWS
• Help improve the service offering from Scania

Your profile

As a Frontend developer in our team, we see that you are a team player, who is eager to learn and move things forward. You are good at understanding and communicating technical solutions on both an overall and a detailed level. Characteristics such as quality conscious, responsive, cooperative, and service minded are highly valued, and we believe that innovative thinking and curiousity are two of your personality traits.

You have an academic education in computer science or comparable professional experience, and you communicate in English (mandatory) and Swedish (preferably) in both speech and writing.

You have experience of writing scalable and dynamic web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks, and it is meritious to know how to write scalable micro-services running in Docker containers as well as writing serverless applications. It’s also of merit if you have worked in an agile team which shares responsibility of a system together with other teams.

The teams stack consists of C#(.NET core) and Angular hosted on AWS, using docker containers. Experience in those technologies together with HTML/CSS and Git is meriting.
