Mentimeter is one of the fastest growing startups in Sweden. Our vision is to transform presentations and meetings into fun and interactive experiences by making it easy to listen and to be heard, as well as create meaningful engagement. Mentimeter serves hundreds of millions of users with services that we deploy roughly 40 times a week. With transaction loads up to hundreds of votes per second, we have to be sure we can scale while still delivering a fast and smooth experience.
We work in small, independent, cross-functional and self-organizing teams. The team's Product Manager, Engineering Tech Lead and Product Designer organize and plan the team's backlog with a focus on continuously delivering value to our users.
We are looking for Experienced Frontend Engineers to join our Product department.
We offer a friendly but fast-paced environment where you will be challenged with technically difficult tasks and be given a lot of responsibility from day one.

What you'll do
As a Frontend Engineer at Mentimeter you will be an integral part of one of our cross-functional product teams, implementing designs and user experiences that will affect millions of people all over the world. You should be curious about how to build fast, intuitive and well performing user interfaces with modern technologies in a team together with designers and developers.
We are currently looking into/starting up brand new business areas, meaning you will be helping us position ourselves in our segment. You will be pushing boundaries through smart and innovative work with cutting edge technology.
You will balance discovery and implementation work, new customer facing features and managing tech debt and technical initiatives.
Since Employee Experience (also known as Developer Experience) is very important to us, we expect you to raise your voice by influencing which tools, programming languages, and technologies you work with while helping us ensure we have a smooth software pipeline for continuous and fast delivery.
Who you are
Typically, for this role we require 5 years of related work experience as a developer and through your experience you have gained a good understanding of frontend development for the web.
You are a reliable, high-performing individual contributor with solid understanding of your area of specialization.
With our current roadmap, we believe you'd ideally have good React experience, but would also welcome your application if you have a lot of experience working with similar frontend frameworks that could add value.
It is big plus iIf you have experience as Tech Lead or similar, or if this is a road your ambitions are leading you towards.
For this particular position, we believe you are a person who gets motivated by a short feedback-loop, quickly seeing the effect your work has on end-users. We believe the key to being the first mover in our segment is smart and innovative work aided by cutting edge technology. In order to thrive in this, with us moving fast forward, you should be flexible and embrace change.
In addition to being a good cultural fit (see our values below), we hope that you bring a passion for software development, scalable architecture and building great products. For us, is it important that everyone cares about code quality so an interest in both testing and automation will be something we will be looking for. Experience with writing test-driven frontend code is something we would appreciate but have no exact requirements for which framework you are used to.
Excellent communication skills and being able to work both independently and in a team are some other traits we are looking for in all of our colleagues.
