Mentimeter serves hundreds of millions of users with services that we deploy roughly 40 times a week. With transaction loads up to hundreds of votes per second, we have to be sure we can scale while still delivering a fast and smooth experience.
We work in small, independent, cross-functional and self-organizing teams. The team's Product Manager, Engineering Tech Lead and Product Designer organize and plan the team's backlog with a focus on continuously delivering value to our users.
We are looking for a Frontend Platform Engineer to help us in scaling both our application and tooling to help support more users and our growing product engineering organization.
We offer a friendly but fast-paced environment where you will be challenged with technically difficult tasks and be given a lot of responsibility from day one.

What you'll do
As a Frontend Platform Engineer at Mentimeter you will be an integral part of our platform team; a team responsible for product team enablement, developer experience, and infrastructure. You will occupy an influential position within the engineering organization with room to suggest new technology and ways of working that will improve the quality and speed with which we ship code. This team’s decisions will greatly impact Mentimeter, our engineers’ productivity, and developers’ experience.
Your team will design, build, evolve, and maintain the foundational frontend ecosystem and underlying tools used by Mentimeter’s product engineering teams. The daily tasks will vary as we continue to tackle different problems with regards to scaling our organization. Some days you might be working directly on our typescript monorepo tooling in order to improve build performance, while others you could be working with product engineers to identify more scalable patterns for writing product frontend code.
Since Employee Experience (also known as Developer Experience) is very important to us, we expect you to have a role in influencing which tools, programming languages, and technologies you work with while helping us ensure we have a smooth software pipeline for fast and continuous delivery.
Skills & Requirements
Who you are
You will have at least three years of experience as a developer through which you have gained a good understanding of frontend development.
You gravitate towards improving the developer experience for yourself and your colleagues, and have an interest in following the rapid changing landscape in the world of frontend development.
For this particular position, you should excel at communication as you will eventually be driving your own initiatives influenced by feedback from other developers.
We believe the key to being the first mover in our segment is smart and innovative work aided by cutting edge technology. In order to succeed, you should be flexible and embrace change.
