HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.
As a Front-end developer, you will be part of a team developing new tools to support engineering and tendering of HVDC stations. You will work in an agile setup team, with colleagues mainly in Västerås/Ludvika and cooperating with a team in Bangalore.
The team is working in an agile way where all team members are expected to contribute with their knowledge and experiences to achieve the common goals for the development of the products. This means that the team is doing a breakdown of activities together, collaborating within the team as well as seeking collaboration with the relevant teams in the HVDC organization.

Your responsibilities
Being able to stay on the scope and take responsibility for meeting milestones and deadlines, as well as analyzing, designing, and implementing components by applying best practices and coding standards.
Proactive with suggestions for improvements; thinks laterally; receptive to new ideas.
Work closely with a dynamic group of people in various time zones and work with the development team to discuss user interface ideas.
Reviewing application requirements and interface designs.
Developing and implementing front-end architecture to support user interface concepts and highly responsive user interface components using react concepts.
Translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
Troubleshooting interface software and debugging application codes.
Create reusable, effective, and scalable JavaScript code.
Your background
English language proficiency with strong written and verbal communication skills
5+ years of experience with vanilla JavaScript and ES6+ best practices
Hands on experience of HTML5, CSS3 (CSS modules), SAAS, Flexbox, Response web design
SOLID grasp of programming paradigms and patterns
3+ years of experience shipping large-scale single-page applications using React
Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
Proficient in using Git as a control system
Experience with user interface design
