Academic skills may further encompass the ability to achieve results through cooperation in joint research projects ? of benefit to academia as well as industry/the public sector/society in general ? and the ability to disseminate research findings.
Experience of and skills in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels are also required. The assessment of teaching skills will include the planning, carrying out and evaluation of teaching as well as supervision and examination. A person appointed as a professor but lacking training in higher education teaching and learning will be offered an in-house course at Mälardalen University during the first year, corresponding to 10 weeks of training.

The assessment criteria will be based on the skills required for the appointment. In general terms, the assessment criteria include the ability to cooperate as well as the ability and suitability otherwise required to fulfil the duties well.
