We are looking for a flexible Software Developer to join our Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) development team.
What will your role be?
As a Software Developer you will be focused on our BIOVIA software products more specifically our Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN), supporting the ongoing development and defining of functional behavior, limitations, and acceptance tests of capabilities.
This role will play a key role in the development of our next generation of web-based applications in the area of Scientific Notebook for Laboratory informatics in Life Sciences, Consumer Goods and Energy Industries.
You will work within a team of software developers alongside Product Managers and Quality Engineers to develop and enhance BIOVIA software products. BIOVIA employs an Agile approach with an increasing emphasis on DevOps to support the development and continuous integration and testing of our service-oriented architectures.
The Challenge Ahead
Work in a small team developing new software utilizing sound problem-solving, innovation and engineering practices.
Work on the server or the client, using modern software languages such as Java or JavaScript.
Improve software development environment by automating server deployments, improving continuous integration and deployment systems, and assisting with automated testing systems.
Identify defects and fixes using documentation and customer feedback.
Continue to develop your personal understanding of technologies and software development practices.
Communicate and collaborate among cross-functional teams in a multinational environment.
Share your experience and insights with other developers.
Solve product defects through a rational and efficient approach.
Notice and act upon opportunities for continuous improvement in development and release processes; you seek empowerment to make things better for everyone.
Your Key Success Factors
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience
One to three years of experience developing commercial software
Knowledge of server-side Java or JavaScript
Knowledge of Web App Development with HTML5, Angular, and/or Typescript/JavaScript frameworks
Understanding of Software Architecture, Patterns and Practices
Knowledge of Test-Driven Development
Knowledge of Test Automation
Familiarity with graph databases based on RDF or other graph technologies is a strong plus
