Nasdaq Umeå is looking for you, a developer with 3-6 years’ experience designing, building, and maintaining medium to complex systems to join our office. The job is in a dynamic environment where you will evolve your career by working on products that have a global impact. You will join a team in Umeå and interact frequently with colleagues seated in one of our 35+ offices around the globe. A very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, is required.


With this position we offer:


You will join one of Nasdaq’s clearing teams in the Engineering Competence Center (ECC) organization. Clearing is a critical component in the post trade world. The teams work very close with our customers to transform our core clearing platform to the customer’s requirement whilst keeping backward compatibility to allow the core product to be updated frequently. The solution can be delivered as a stand-alone project or be part of a product suite delivery including, for example a pricing product, an exchange, and the clearing product you will be working on. You must therefore collaborate closely with other internal teams and our customer to ensure a perfect delivery of all products working seamlessly together.


We expect you to take ownership for parts of the clearing product and become an expert in those sub-domains. Our philosophy is: “you build it, you own it.”. After training, you are expected to cover support 24/7 1 out of every 8-10 weeks.


Your role and responsibilities:


Work closely with Business Analysts to understand the needs of the customer.
Design systemization to specify a solution meeting the customer needs regarding functionality and performance.
Develop new sophisticated functionality and maintain existing codebase in an environment handling large volumes of data with demands for high availability.
Produce high quality code that is easy to understand and maintain.
Work in a scrum team and with your experience improve our ways of working.


We are looking for someone with:


University Degree in Computing Science, Information Systems or related programs, or equivalent work experience.
3-6 years of software development experience and great Java skills.
Understand the importance of well tested and clean code.
Experience from working with agile methodologies e.g. Scrum or Kanban.
Front-end and back-end development experience.


It would be great if you have:


JavaScript experience
Experience from UX
Experience with Maven and Git
Knowledge of messaging (JMS)
Experience from software architecture work
Knowledge of C#
Knowledge of security and authorization (2FA/MFA)
Experience from CI/CD
Knowledge of cloud-based solutions including Docker
