Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) - operates Europe's leading research facility for basic research with neutrons in Grenoble (France). Core mission
You will join the (7-person) Development team in the ILL's IT Service, where you will contribute to the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of our applications, software and tools and thus support our scientific research activities.
Your tasks
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for:
. Leading the design and development of applications, tools and software in Java
. Writing general and detailed technical specifications, anticipating potential problems and future upgrades
. Managing software development tools (gitlab, automated deployment, CI/CD) and authentication protocols (OpenID Connect, SAML, etc.)
. Preparing and performing unit testing and making the necessary corrections following these tests or functional tests performed by users
. Correcting and optimising functionalities (quality, graphics, ergonomics, etc.)
. Documenting applications for later developments and deployment to production
. Participating in high-impact projects in collaboration with other large-scale European research institutes
. Communicating effectively and delivering presentations on technical subjects
. Monitoring trends in software development.
Your profile
. Level 3 to Level 6 qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent), together with significant professional experience in developing applications using Java, NodeJS and Angular.
. Experience in microservices would be appreciated.
. You have a good command of written and spoken English.
. You are flexible and able to respond proactively to the needs of our users whilst respecting development standards.
. You are also versatile and creative when it comes to identifying the right technical solutions.
